Installing HART Mobile POS
To install the mobile app on android devices (I.e., phones and tablets), use the following link (NB: some devices may need an extra approval step as the application is not downloadable from the Google store).

To install it on a Clover device, there are two applications which need to be installed.
Look for the HART Mobile POS, and HART POS applications in the Clover app store.
- HART POS is used to take payments for any open order.
- HART MOBILE POS is used to take at table orders.
Configuring HART Mobile POS
NB: This procedure only needs to be performed once per device.
Launch the HART MOBILE POS app on your desired device and register it to your property by clicking the REGISTER button.
When at the next screen, fill in the hotel ID (if not known, this can be obtained by contacting the HART support team), the PMS user ID and the password you would like linked to this device. If there is not a suitable one then a generic account can be created in PMS.
Once you click REGISTER, you will see the following two screens. Select the Ok and Continue options respectively to complete registration.
Using HART Mobile POS
NB: some steps may be slightly different / not required on Clover devices.
To start using the application to take orders from a guest, first launch the application from your device.
Once the application is open, click on the outlet bar, and select the outlet you wish to take orders from.
Then put in your operator number, then click LOGIN.
From the order screen, you can enter the table ID, no of people (or select guests from the calendar icon to the right), and input a room no. (or select from the icon to the right), enter a guest name )or select from the icon on the right) and add any discount to be applied to the order prior to taking it.
NB: Table and People are the minimum numbers of details needed to start an order.
NB: To change outlet, you click the exit option on the order screen to return to the selection screen.
Once you have added the required details, you should then click the Menu option at the top.
This will display the menu card options as they are listed if using the Windows POS application.
Clicking on any of these options will display the card's content (again, in the same way the Windows application works).
You can then select you items, enter any free text for it (I.E, “no cream”, “Steak – rare” etc) and select the required quantity.
You can then also add its position in the order selection, thereby allowing you to group items /courses etc together.
Clicking the Button ending Back to Menu will return you to the original list of menu cards, allowing you to select another course etc, while clicking the other button (NB: the ending will be different depending on the menu card currently selected), will return you the currently selected menu to add extra items.
Once you have added all the required items, it is advised to click the Items option (which can be selected at any time to review the order) to confirm the order and click Save if correct.
If items need to be removed, you can click on the item, and then click the Void button, okaying the operation to proceed.
NB: you cannot amend an item. If the quantity has changed, then you must void the already selected item, and re-add with the correct quantity.
Taking a Payment via the HART MOBILE POS application
From the Order tab, click the Open button at the bottom of the screen.
Select the required open order, then click Select
Then click on the Pay tab and select your payment type, amount etc as normal.
Taking a Payment via the HART POS Clover application
- Launch the HART POS application on the Clover device.
- Select the required outlet
- Input user POS id
- Click on the “tables” row, and select the required table
- Click the Payment Button
You can now present the device to the guest so they can tap their card and enter their PIN (if required).
Once payment has gone through, you have the option to print, email, SMS or No Receipt.
Possible error messages and their meanings
a)
This message will appear if you are trying to add an item but have not created an order (I.e., selected a table number, number of people etc) from the Order tab.
OK this message, return to the order tab and create one before attempting to add the item again.
b)
You will see if message if you click the pay tab but you have not saved and then reopened and order.
“OK” the message, then go to the Order tab, select open and choose the required order.
