This guide is intended as support for IT teams to support in the installation of HART products. Please do not attempt to install any programs without express permission from your IT Manager.
Installing PMS and POS
- Running the setup_PMS.exe and setup_POS.exe from the hotels Latest folder will create the HART folder under Program Files, or Program files (x86) (depending on the machines OS version). If this is not the case, then the following step will need to be followed.
- Go to c:\ Program Files (x86) (or c:\ Program Files is it’s a 32-bit OS), right mouse click and create a new folder called HART (NB Case is important).
- Right mouse click on the new folder and select Properties, click edit, then Add, then type in “Everyone” (minus quotes) into the ”object name” box, then click “check names”, then OK.
- Select the new Everyone user, and give them FULL CONTROL
- Open a browser and go to http://hartpms.com/FTP/files/sqlncli.msi (or http://hartpms.com/FTP/files/sqlncli_x64.msi if its a 64 bit machine) . Download and run.
- Then go to http://hartpms.com/FTP/files/DLLv2.exe , download and run (you should see files populate in the HART folder).
- You now need to install PMS and POS.
NB: The latest version of these can be found on the Hotels server under the shared folder on the network called “latest”.
The “latest” folder should to accessible by all network/PMS users. The machine HART is being installed on also needs Network Discovering turned on.
- Run the pos_setup.exe and pms_setup.exe.
- In the same folder is the Data.ini file, copy this into the newly created Program files HART folder.
NB: is there is NO data.ini file in this folder, then the file can be copied from a working machine, or a ticket raised with the HART helpdesk to configure the install.
- Run hart PMS and log in to test the connection. If you are able to login, then this proves PMS is working correctly, and can be closed.
NB: If you get a pop-up message mentioning DLL files that start with PB, check the “latest” folder for the file DLLv2.exe, and run this. If the file is not present, contact HART support, requesting the file by name.
If you get a message about any other missing DLL file, this is normally because not all the Microsoft updates have yet been installed. It is advised you download the 32- and 64-bit C++ redistributes (both the 2008 and 2010 versions) and install then, then try PMS again. These redistributable can be download from (Download Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Service Pack 1 Redistributable Package ATL Security Update from Official Microsoft Download Center and Download Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Service Pack 1 Redistributable Package MFC Security Update from Official Microsoft Download Center)
- Run POS, and add the required outlets for this machine via the green Plus button
- Click on the required outlet under AVAILABLE, and it will be added to Configured.
- Click on a yellow outlet and wait for POS to launch.
- Once the POS is on the screen (and asking for an operator id), then POS and be closed (As this proves that POS works).
