How to Move Rooms and Split Rooms during a Guests Stay

At the end of this information article you will be able to;


  • Move a Guest into a different room during their stay.


There may be circumstances when a guest is allocated a room for a one-night’s stay but then needs to change rooms for the rest of their stay, or an in-house guest requests to move rooms. 


These types of room moves are always done via the room rack.


To allocate different rooms for one reservation.


Take the room booking as usual and allocate the room the guest is staying on the first night.


Next, navigate to the room rack and left-click on the date that you need to room move to take place. You will see on the right-hand side that you are currently editing the room.



Next right click on the date and room you wish to move the guest to, and select move from the menu.

You will be asked to confirm your room move.



Click yes and you will see the room move on the room rack.



NOTE you must ensure that you left-click on the date the room move is for otherwise, you will also be changing the date of the whole stay.


 

To move a guest to a different room 


If you have a guest in-house that wishes to move rooms, follow the procedure above, but with the additional step below, pressing Move in the room booking.



Completing the room move


Completing the room move is done on the day of the room move, you will see in your arrival window that although the guest status is check-in, they appear as an arrival. When you hover over their reservation ID you will see room move information appear, the reservation ID is also shaded in. 



To complete the room move when the room is ready to be moved into, you must edit the reservation screen on the date of the room move and press the move button.
