The Table Rack feature is designed to make bookings within the restaurant more visual and provide an alternative way to manage the floor of the restaurant.  This guide relates to versions 3674 onwards released in September 2025.

By the end of this article you will be able to:

  • Navigate to the rack
  • Understand the layout and features of the table rack
  • Configuration related to the table rack

Navigating to the rack

The table rack is found via Reservations > Restaurant > Rack

Layout and features of the rack

Within the upper section of the rack:

  • Time & Cover information: along with the time time slot information is also displayed about the number of covers booked available and the number of covers booked - in the example above the 12:15 slot has 6 covers available and 4 booked
  • Section: by default the entire restaurant is shown however via the section filter it is possible to view tables within specific sections
  • P filter: will filter the rack for individual tables that can accommodate the number of covers input.  Please note this tool will not return table joins/combinations as the same table can belong to multiple different combinations
  • Service: allows switching between the services of the selected restaurant e.g. Lunch, Dinner. Please note it is not possible to switch between restaurants from the rack and this must be accessed via the relevant restaurant sheet
  • Summary: provides a pop out summary of the bookings per service which can be printed and will split each service on a separate page. At the bottom of each service there is a summary of the number of tables booked and number of covers:
  • Refresh: will refresh the page and display any new bookings or amendments
  • Block Mode: when ticked this allows for the blocking of specific time slots and/or tables. To block a time slot click on the time and it will turn red and no longer be available:

To block a table click the table number and input the from and to times of the block for this service specifically

Within the right hand panel:

  • Definite bookings: this area is taken from the regular restaurant facility booking screen and details the definite bookings taking place during that service
  • Waitlist booking: the lower area of the right hand panel displays any Waitlist reservations for that service
  • Notes: any diary notes relevant to that day are displayed in the pop out box

Within the main rack:

  • Bookings display: within the booking bar the guest name, number of covers and other key information is displayed: A where allergies exist; D where F&B Note exists; V where a VIP code is attached to the profile

  • Opening a booking: to open a reservation to see more detail/add additional notes, double click the reservation to open the booking in the restaurant facility screen

  • Making a new reservation: double click on the table's row at the desired time to open the restaurant facility booking screen with that time and table pre-selected

  • Table Joins: where a party is sitting across multiple tables this is shown on the rack with the main main table being shown in orange and the joined tables in blue

  • Moving Tables: to move a table on the rack, first select it with a left mouse click after which the booking will turn red to indicate it is selected.  Left mouse click on the new table and/or time that the booking is to be placed in - please note it is possible to change both the table allocation and time through this method

  • Amending the booking length: bookings will be displayed on the rack as per the table turn configuration (see other configuration below) however this can be changed by amending the to time in the restaurant facility screen:

Configuration related to the table rack

All configuration for the table rack takes place in Configuration > Facilities > Restaurants

  • Table Turn Times: are controlled via the relay column in the upper section with turn times defined in minutes. This setting will dictate the default length of the table booking on the rack

  • Table Ordering: is controlled via the Tables tab and the Rack Order column

  • Overlapping Services: are controlled via the Rack tab. This should be used where two services overlap in time and share the same space e.g. Lunch and Afternoon Tea. Once configured if a table is booked in one service it will show as blocked in the other service
