Group Rates & Rate Changes

This article looks at how to apply rate changes to groups initially and also apply rate changes to rooms attached to a group

Apply a Group Rate Change

Following the creation of a group, a rate change can be applied at group level to all rooms that are synched to follow the group rate.

To attach a room to follow the group rates the 'Sync' check box must be ticked within the Bookings tab of a group

Rate Changes are applied within the Rate Change tab:

As with standalone room bookings rate changes can only be applied from the second night onwards

Within the individual room bookings the rate change will be applied

De-synching a room from the group

Unticking the Sync button will detach the room from the group rate rules meaning the room will follow the first night of the group rate plan for all nights with the rate change being removed

Updating Group Room Rates

Group Rates are updated via the Rates tab of the Group with the section marked below affecting the rate of the main group rate only.  In this example, changes here would only affect the Room Only Rate

Following any updates here the Recalculate button should be pressed to apply the changes to the group.

To amend the rates of rooms where a rate change applies, the Overwrite button should be pressed.  Following this enter the room type and nights that the new rates should apply to.  

Where the rate plan the rate is being applied to has all inclusive elements then the rate entered is the total rate.  If the elements of the rate plan are added on to the room rate then then room element of the rate should be entered here.

Following this the rates of all rooms synched to the group will be updated

(Re)Attaching a room to the group

As covered previously when a room is detached from a group any rate changes will be removed. If a room is reattached to a group or a standalone reservation is attached to a group then any group level rate changes must be applied to that room(s) via the Bookings tab of a group.

Reapply C: will delete all rates/rate changes attached to group synched rooms and update them with the rate and rate changes of the group.  This is a hard reset to the standard rates of the rate plans.

Refresh C: will update any rooms synched to the group with any new Rate Changes

Please note that when a room is re-synched to a group it is necessary to reapply the rate value via the Overwrite button as above
