Advanced Rate Matrix Management

By the end of this article you will be able to;

• Create revenue groups
• Manage different groups of rate plan levels
• Manage the rate matrix by occupancy levels
• Manage the rate matrix by room type

It is assumed that you are familiar with how to use the rate matrix if not please read the article on Basic Rate Matrix Management.

Create the revenue groups

The rate matrix can be used to set up different rate tiers for specific types of rates plans and room types For example, you may wish your leisure tier to be set to the highest tier, but your corporate rates to a different tier. 

The first step of this is to set up Rate Groups. These will be the different types of rate plans you wish to assign to a specific tier. Navigate to Configuration > Accounts > Rate Groups. By right-clicking and adding an entry you can free type your rate groups. Press save or F3 

Next, navigate to your rate plan(s) that you wish to set to each revenue group and assign the revenue group by choosing from the drop-down box.

Managing the groups on the rate matrix

Navigate to Sales > Rate matrix, press selection and choose your revenue group from the drop-down box in the revenue field. You can then set the levels as usual either using the wizard or by day.

Managing the rates by occupancy levels.

If you have not already done so please set up your occupancy levels by reading the Configuring Rate Levels article.

Once you have your occupancy levels set up, navigate to Sales > Rate matrix and tick occupancy. Click on the dates you wish to change the level for according to the occupancy setup.

Alternatively, you can use the wizard to set the levels for a longer period of time by pressing occupancy after adding in your time period and days of the week that you wish to set.

Managing by room type for advanced users

Press selection, choose your room type from the drop-down box, and select your level as usual either by demand or occupancy depending. You can also manage room types via revenue group, just select the revenue group in the revenue field along with the room type.

Pressing the View button gives you an overview of the rate matrix between the from and to dates you have chosen.
