How to Split an order

By the end of this article you will be able to:


  • Split specific item(s) from a single order into further checks
  • Split an entire check into equal parts




Splitting specific items from an order


In a situation where specific item(s) need to be split from a single order into a sub-order,ew the following process should be followed.


Once the relevant order is open tap the Split button to open the split screen.  Please note that the authority to split must be assigned to operators within Configuration > Outlets > Operators:



Select the item(s) that wish to be split off to a further check; select the number of people using the + and - buttons and finally hit the green Split button and confirm the selection made:



If at any point you wish to re-start the split process simply hit the blue Reset button


Once complete, press the grey X button.  With the open orders your new split will appear with the main check marked with the table number (or 0 in the case where no table number is used) and subsequent check as .1 etc.:


Each check can now be opened and paid for independently.




Splitting a check into equal parts


Where there is a request to split a check into equal parts between a party, the same process as above should be followed in order to initiate the split however press the All button to select all items within a check, then the red Equal button should be pressed following which you will be asked how many parts to split the check into



This process will create as many checks as designated with an equal split of both the item's value and also quantity:



From the above example the single Bombay Sapphire and Gin Maren have quantities of 0.5 and likewise a half value.
