How to create a Set Menus for Function Bookings

Creating the Function Menu


Navigate to Materials > Items and Free type the name of your function menu in the Name field. Add a description of the menu in the Description field, choose Menu in the Type field, and category food in the Category field. Now save.

 

 

 

Next, add your menu items in the same way, (create a new items for each selection or course on your menu) but under the Type field, choose Product and tick Part of Menu.  


 

Once you have finished creating the menu items navigate back to your menu and under the dishes, tab add the dishes by choosing them from the drop-down box.

 

 

You can also choose an alternative item by highlighting the first item, right-click and choosing from the drop-down the alternative item.



NOTE:  Ensure that the Taxation tab shows the correct VAT.


Adding your Menu to the Function


Navigate to your function and ensure when you add your Dinner/ Lunch event in the function that the type selected is Menu.


 

Next, navigate to the Food tab and in the left-hand-side window, right-click and choose from the drop-down. Add the correct event menu that you have just created.


Press breakdown and you will see your items from this menu appear.

If you add a number in the Qty column the system will automatically add this to each item except the alternatives if you have these setup.

 

 

The alternatives appear highlighted.


 

Free type the order you wish the item to appear on your function sheet, and the free type of the quantity of each item. Once finished, press the add button. Your item and quantity will then be added to the function sheet. Pressing reset will reset the quantity back to 0. Navigate to the function sheet for a final check that all dishes and quantities are showing correctly.
