To carry out and understand the unit configuration
In order for the stock feature of HART to work correctly, the unit measurements must be configured accurately. To check and add any new units you need to navigate to Configuration > Material and the Units tab.
Here you can see units that have already been configured, their measurement, and conversion. To add a new measurement right-click and add an entry.
- Measurement units: free-type the measurement unit.
- Type: choose from the drop-down the type of measurement.
- Base unit: this will default to the unit that is shown in the right-hand side window but you can choose a different unit if applicable.
- Conversion: free type the conversion required so for example 125ml in litres is 0.1250
- Glass Name: if you are going to be using this measurement for glasses you can free-type the glass name here, or choose from the drop-down.
Adding a Stock Group
Navigate to the Stock tab and right-click to add an entry. Free type the stock group name.
In the bottom window, free-type the subgroup stock name if applicable.
Adding the Stock Group to an Outlet and Store
With the store displaying in the top window navigate to the details tab, right-click and add an entry to add your stock group to this store. Next, with the stock group highlighted in the bottom right window, add the outlet(s) you wish this stock group to be linked to.
For example, the below setup means that when an item with an Alcoholic Drink stock group is sold from the HART Example 2 outlet, this will remove the stock from the Main Store.
Note: it is important to ensure you use the page-down button on your keyboard to scroll between the stores. |
Linking the item to the stock group
Create the item as usual, then in the units section choose the unit from the drop-down that you are purchasing the item in, calculating for the stocktake, the unit that you will use to transfer the item to another store if required, and finally the sales units.
Note: pressing the = icon after you have chosen your purchase unit will then drop in all the units. |
Next under the group section choose the stock group and subgroup under the Group and Subgroup field.
The item is now set up to come out of stock.
Create an option which will count towards stock
In some cases, for instance wines by the glass, it may be advantageous to create a a single item of the bottle and then have options attached to this item that deduct from stock accordingly.
In this instance the following must apply:
- The item must have a sales unit
- The option must be linked to the item
- The option must have a unit
