Create Packages and Dynamic Services for Bedroom Rates

By the end of this training article you will be able to:

• Create services
• Create packages

HART allows you to create dynamic room packages, which means you can add services to an existing purchased room package, even before the guest arrives at the property. For the purposes of this training, services refer to individual components such a Champagne, or a Spa treatment. Packages are then made up of these services.

To Create a Service.

Go to Configuration > Services > Bedrooms >Service

Under the service tab by right-clicking and adding an entry you create your service. 

Fill in the required field for your services depending on your requirements. Below is what each field means.

• Service: free type the service name.
• Short: this will automatically populate.
• ID:  this will automatically populate once you press Save.
• Revenue: select the revenue centre where the service will be charged from the drop down menu.
• Price: select the price if applicable, the service price will appear automatically when you enter the service to a room booking.
• Pre charge: tick here is the service requires to be charged at close of day before it is consumed.
• Group: add your service to a group if applicable.
• Dynamic Package: tick here if the service is to be dynamic.
• Level: for Spa treatment levels.
• Prayer sheet: tick here if you wish the service to be included on the prayer sheet.
• P.S order: add the order that you wish the service to appear on the prayer sheet
• Publish: tick here if you wish the service to be published online as part of the booking engine

NOTE: A service CANNOT and WILL NOT be charged on the check-out date, unless the Pre-charge check box was checked during setup 

Press save and you have now created your service.

To Create Bedroom Packages

Once you have created your services navigate to Configuration > Services > Bedrooms and in the top window right-click and add an entry you create your package. 

Free type your package code and package name, tick the active box to make the package active and press save. The ID will automatically populate.

Next, highlight your package and add your services by right-clicking and adding an entry in the service window. Free type the order you wish the service to appear in, in the package and select the service from the drop-down box.

Once you have created your services, with your service highlighted, add the day range that this service is available for in the Availability window.

If you have any alternative services that the guest can choose from, add this in the Alternative service window. Alternative services would work, for example, if a guest has a choice of one of 3 treatments included in the Spa package. One treatment would be added in the Service Included window and the rest in the Alternative Service window.

Continue until you have all your package services created.

Once you have completed your new package, you can continue to create your Rate Plan.
